We had to set alot of firewood in for the last storm which lasted just over 10 days. All the guests hunkered down and enjoyed their stay skiing during breaks in the storm which were far and few between. The snow started to pile up in the snow play area. All the children's tunnels and sledding paths were buried. Over the course of this storm we measured just over 5 feet of new snow.

We are hunkering down for a week or so of snow that is predicted to fall this week. Here is a a photo as it starts to fall. If we survive "The Shining" we will report back as the snow accumulates. Skiing is great!

The children hit the snow play area at the Kingvale Lodge. Nearly everyday this Christmas week we have had 2"-4" of snow. Last night (December 29th) we got 8" of lite powder. It is piling up fast and making for great sledding and skiing of course. This would be Stacy posing before heading off on the snowmobile. Looks like this 2009-2010 winter season is starting to shape up as another nice season. Here we were last year at the top of Lincoln enjoying what we do best when we head out from the Kingvale Lodge.

We're at the Kingvale Lodge located just off Interstate 80 near Donner Pass in the central Sierra. The lodge is ready to open for the upcoming ski season and accommodate guests.The first snow of the season is flying at 6 AM this morning. The temperature is 28 F. Freshly fallen leaves have been raked and the burn pile extinguished.
