Kingvale Lodge Locks and Thermostats

Now that the resorts have opened, guests are filling the Kingvale Lodge. There have been a few questions we have received that can be answered by viewing these photos.

How do your electronic locks work?

Here is our electronic door lock that allows us to assign a six digit Private Entry Access Code to you as a guest. The code is good for the duration of your stay and allows you access to the suite you have reserved. This is a unique code assigned by computer, by us, when we confirm your reservation. No other person is ever assigned the same code. The codes always work when you arrive. We have never had a lock malfunction. So yes, the door will open when you arrive. We get that question a lot!

Thermostats work like this in each Suite!

This is the type of therrmostat we have in each suite at the Kingvale Lodge. All suites except our studio are heated with separate forced air furnaces. The studio has a cozy wall heater. We keep the rooms at 52 degrees so the water pipes are protected in winter. When you arrive, you push the "up" or "down" arrow on the front of the thermostat to set the thermostat to the temperature that you are comfortable with. Four times a day the thermostat will return to 52 degrees automatically. This is to conserve energy. The thermostat never adjusts during the night when you are most likely to be occupying the room. Around 9:00 AM each morning the temperature adjusts back to 52 degrees. This is probably after you have left the suite. Please do not open the thermostat. We have a few guests who think they are engineers who try to re-program the thermostats. Do not change anything other than the set temperature by using the "up" or "down" bottons on the front of the thermostat. The cover of the thermostat is taped shut for a reason. Please do not open the thermostat. The rooms heat up to the temperature you have selected in a matter of minutes. Guests are always warm and cozy at the Kingvale Lodge!
